Really Cheap Mac Software! No, it’s not spam.

I’ve been a MacHeist buyer for the last few years now, ever since the wonderful TextMate was introduced to the bundle (for that year). It’s basically a limited time offer type deal on a shitload of great software for an insanely low price. If this stuff was advertised on T.V., you could easily picture a goofy looking middle aged man screaming off the roof of his store about how “everything must go”.

Well, there’s a new MacHeist, and there’s only 1 day and a couple of hours left to snag it up!

These bundles always have at least one really great addition. Just last Christmas XSlimmer was in the bundle. This year is the highly anticipated PixelMator. This piece of work is probably the first real competition that Adobe Photoshop will ever have (GIMP, you never had a chance), and priced at only 60 bucks (outside the MacHeist bundle), it’s probably the first commercial graphics program that people can actually afford. AppZapper is also really great, and I’ve previously tried the iStopMotion demo for a small project, so I’m psyched to own many of these apps.

These deals are ridiculously worthwhile. The amount of software you get for the $50 price tag is worth almost 10 times worth what you pay. Yes, there’s the whole “wait, I don’t actually need half this software, so it’s not like I’m really saving anything” argument. You are. Even if you bought the bundle for PixelMator (or any other app) alone, you would still be saving around ten bucks. If you plan on ever checking out any of this software, don’t miss out.

MacHeist Charities

I think the best part of this whole thing isn’t the software, though. It’s the fact that not only am I getting a great deal on something, but I’m also able to give back. Give back you ask? Well, 25% of the bundle price (roughly $12.25 USD) will be donated to a charity of your choice, and they have a bunch of ‘em to choose from. Not that I need to get something out of giving, but it’s great incentive to support a project like this. So far they’ve raised nearly $350,000 in just about a week.

By the way, I don’t work or know anyone who works for MacHeist, nor have I ever spoken to any single person who does. I say this because I realize how much this post bleeds of ADVERTISEMENT. I’m just excited to get my hands on some new sleek software.
